It has been an unusual year. A few personal saving graces have countered the distress and disappointment about national matters. I will bring in the new year with gratitude and hope.
Somehow the mountains, great clouds, radiant skies, wingspread birds, old-growth trees, ever-changing leaves, layers of ocean, full rivers and lakes will make the new year all right. They will gift me with their splendor as they sail, fly and bend overhead, and fall, rise and flow at my feet. They will inspire, comfort and encourage me. I will continue to come out with personal truth. Work is demanded for peace and peace of mind.
That is what I can hope for and I must hope for.
